Background

The Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) Tissue Bank has been established at the University of Hong Kong since 2010 upon the award of the project “Center for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Research” under the Research Grants Council Areas of Excellence (AoE) Scheme. It contains over 10 years of NPC specimens collected from five public hospitals (QMH, QEH, PMH, PYH & TMH) with associated clinical information on patients. In Jun-2021, the NPC Tissue Bank Advisory Group was formed to provide directions on the sustainability of the facility. Management of the facility was officially transferred from the Principal Investigator to the Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS) on 1-Apr-2022, upon the decision of the Advisory Group.
